Q: Why is the cuff different to apply than my previous cuff?
A: Most blood pressure readings are taken on patients' left arms. When traditional cuffs are applied properly, the tubing ends up under the patient's arm. This can be uncomfortable for patients and make accessing the cuff tubing difficult for clinicians. When FlexiPort cuffs are applied properly to patient's left arms, the port and tubing is located near the top of the bicep making it easy to access the tubing and this relocated port provides improved comfort for the patient.

A: No, the new FlexiPort cuffs will replace all non-neonatal one-piece blood pressure cuffs. The previous cuff style will only be available for a very limited time from Welch Allyn's distributors.
