Welch Allyn Receives Silver Award from the American Red Cross Life Share Program

Program recognizes dedicated sponsors of organized blood drives

Skaneateles Falls, NY, USA, June 19, 2012⎯ Welch Allyn, a leading global provider of frontline medical products and solutions, today announced it has received a Silver Award from the American Red Cross Life Share Program. The program’s goal is to help save lives by ensuring there is an adequate blood supply available at all times and provides a platform to recognize the most dedicated sponsors who hold organizational blood drives. Recognition is based on the participation rate of a company, which is the total amount of blood units collected during on-site drives divided by the organization’s population. Since 2007, the Welch Allyn global headquarters in Skaneateles Falls, N.Y., has donated more than 940 pints of blood.

“As a healthcare company we understand the importance of maintaining an adequate blood supply and how that supply helps save lives in our community and the nation every day,” said Nancy Parsons, manager, occupational health services, and onsite nurse practitioner at Welch Allyn. “Our successful blood drives are a partnership between Welch Allyn, the Red Cross and our employees—who are the donors—and we look forward to continuing our partnership, increasing participation and making a difference in people’s lives for years to come.”

Welch Allyn has a longstanding relationship with the American Red Cross and other nonprofit associations that enhance the quality of life in the communities where their employees live and work. The company holds quarterly blood drives every year at its global headquarters in Skaneateles Falls, N.Y.
