President & CEO - Steve Meyer
Steve Meyer is chief executive officer and president of Welch Allyn, a privately-held, manufacturer of frontline medical equipment and diagnostic solutions headquartered in Skaneateles Falls, New York. A native of Michigan, Meyer joined the Welch Allyn family in in 1981 as a sales representative in Detroit. Over the last 30 years, Steve has held a series of senior leadership roles in a variety of areas from international sales and marketing to product development and general management. Most recently Steve served as chief global business officer.
Currently, Steve serves on the board of directors for TIDI Medical Products, LLC and the Health Industry Distributors Association Foundation. He is a Trustee of Alma College in Michigan. He is a past board member and chair of MedTech (Central New York's Medical Technology Association), past board member and president of the Health Industry Manufacturers Marketing Council, past board member of AAFP's Foundation and past president and chairman of Hiawatha Seaway Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
Steve holds a bachelor’s of science degree from Alma College in biology and earned his master's of business administration from the University of Rochester.
Executive Vice President, Marketing - Scott Gucciardi
As chief marketing officer, Scott Gucciardi is responsible for leading the global marketing function and bringing together a customer-focused organization to drive the company’s product strategy—including customer solutions founded upon Welch Allyn capabilities in healthcare workflow efficiency, patient safety improvement and risk reduction, and timely electronic access to accurate diagnostic data to inform patient care decisions. Within the global marketing organization, he oversees teams developing and executing the company's marketing and communication strategies, analyzing market segments to identify emerging trends and changes in customers' needs, finding new markets for Welch Allyn products and building the company’s brand. He leads Welch Allyn in driving an integrated product, service and software roadmap, while meeting regional business needs to enable execution for success and continual growth for the company to meet its corporate goals.
Scott began his career at Welch Allyn in 1990 as a manufacturing systems project engineer and soon after moved into the new product development function as a quality engineer. He then held a number of management positions of increasing leadership responsibility in product management, marketing, and strategic business unit management, with a focus on innovation in ophthalmic diagnostic devices. He was later appointed vice president of the diagnostic cardiology business and health IT connectivity. Scott then became the senior vice president, global product management and R&D in which he was responsible for developing the integrated product roadmap and oversaw NPD project selection, prioritization, and execution. Scott most recently served as executive vice president & chief new product development officer and was responsible for leading all of the functions relating to R&D at Welch Allyn.
Scott has a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Clarkson University and an M.B.A. from the University of Rochester Simon School. He is first vice president on the board of directors of Aurora of Central New York, the agency serving individuals who are blind and deaf, and is a member of the advisory board of the Salvation Army Syracuse Area Services. He is also a member of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology and the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society.
Executive Vice President, Human Resources & Organization Leadership - Dan Fisher
As chief human resources officer, Dan Fisher is responsible for leading Welch Allyn in hiring and developing the talent necessary to achieve the company’s strategic goals. He also leads in the creation and implementation of organization, processes and policies to align, motivate and reward globally a capable workforce.
Dan started at Welch Allyn in 1980 as director of human resources after beginning his career at Mobil Oil. Named a vice president early in this career, Dan led for a number of years the Welch Allyn total quality improvement process that resulted in significant improvement in Welch Allyn’s return on assets.
Dan currently serves on the board of directors of Nixon Uniform Service & Medical Wear, a leading provider of textile rental service to the outpatient healthcare market across the northeast and mid-Atlantic that is headquartered in New Castle, Delaware.
He also has served on many not-for-profit boards and is currently chair of the (William H.) Seward House Museum Board of Trustees, vice chair of the Onondaga Community College Foundation Board of Trustees, and chair of the CNY Episcopal Diocese Investment Committee. He is also a member of the Fenimore Asset Management Client Advisory Council.
Dan earned his A.B. from Hamilton College, his M.I.L.R. from Cornell University and his M.B.A. from Syracuse University. Dan also obtained an A.A. from Auburn (now Cayuga) Community College.
Executive Vice President, Corporate Development - Jon Soderberg
As Executive Vice President, Corporate Development, Jon Soderberg is responsible for working closely with the Welch Allyn executive team to maintain and expand an active portfolio of potential partnerships and acquisition candidates that align with the Welch Allyn growth strategy and targets. Jon and his team also oversee the corporate strategic planning process.
Prior to becoming EVP, Corporate Development, Jon was based out of the Netherlands and served as the executive responsible for International Business Development, Strategy and Legal affairs. Prior to that role, he was the executive responsible for Strategic Sourcing and Logistics for Welch Allyn from 2000 to 2008. Before joining Welch Allyn, Jon worked for several Washington D.C. law firms where he served as outside counsel providing legal services to a number of fortune 500 companies and as Senior Counsel at the U.S. Securities Exchange Commission, Division of Enforcement. Upon graduation from law school, Jon served as law clerk to the Honorable Jackson L. Kiser, Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia.
Jon received his Bachelor of Arts magna cum laude from Goucher College and received his Juris Doctorate degree cum laude from Washington and Lee University School of Law where he was Executive Editor of the Law Review. Jon is a former board member of Manufacturer's Association of Central New York (MACNY), the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra, The Onondaga Community College (OCC) Foundation and the Allyn Foundation.
Executive Vice President, Global Operations and Supply Chain Management - Darrell (Andy) Clapper
As chief manufacturing and supply chain officer, Darrell (Andy) Clapper is responsible for all manufacturing strategy and operations globally. In addition, Andy ensures that manufactured product availability is consistent with the Welch Allyn strategy and integrated product roadmap.
Andy began his career at Welch Allyn in 2006, after arriving from Eastman Kodak, where he was Director of Global Health Group Flow and Vice President of Global Manufacturing and logistics. During his 27 year career at Eastman Kodak, Andy was recognized as a global operations leader with extensive lean and six sigma experience. His career included six executive leadership roles in a series of diverse and progressively challenging positions within the Fortune 500 company.
He earned his B.S. degree in chemical engineering from Pennsylvania State University. Additionally, Andy earned his master's degree in chemical engineering from the University of Rochester.
Executive Vice President, Product Development - Mike Ehrhart
As executive vice president, product development, Mike Ehrhart is responsible for leading the functions of research and development, enabling technology projects, new product program management, software architecture, applications and user experience. He is also responsible for partner integration tools and support, remote service delivery tools, health record IT connectivity and international research and development. He is responsible for executing the company's product strategy focusing on providing solutions to meet customers' needs.
Mike joined Welch Allyn in 2009 as senior director, systems technology, and served in this role until 2012. Prior to joining Welch Allyn, Mike was vice president of technology at Honeywell/Hand Held Products from 2000 to 2008. Mike also served in various engineering and program management positions for General Electric, General Dynamics and Lockheed Martin.
Mike received his Bachelors of Science Electrical Engineering degree from State University of New York Maritime College and earned his MBA from the Simon School at the University of Rochester. In addition, Mike is active in the central New York community and serves on the Board of Directors for the Upstate Medical University Foundation and is a Youth Leader for the First United Methodist Church of Liverpool.
Executive Vice President, General Counsel - Gregory Porter
As chief legal, quality, regulatory and corporate development officer, Gregory Porter is responsible for managing the legal and public affairs of Welch Allyn, protecting the company from legal and associated risk. Additionally, Greg serves the legal advisor for senior management and the board of directors and also as secretary to the board of directors.
Most recently, Porter has served as co-founder, CEO and board vice chairman of Verispan, a healthcare information company founded in a joint venture between Quintiles Transnational Corp. and McKesson Corp. Prior to that, he spent several years with Quintiles Transnational Corp., occupying a number of executive leadership roles that encompassed general counsel, legal and regulatory management and strategic development, among others. He has also held positions as a partner with the Moore & Van Allen Law Firm, visiting lecturer at the University of North Carolina School of Law, and law clerk for U.S. District Judge William Matthew Byrne.
Porter earned a juris doctorate (JD) degree with high honors from the University of North Carolina School of Law where he served as editor-in-chief of the North Carolina Law Review.
Executive Vice President, Finance & Chief Financial Officer - Joseph Hennigan
As chief financial officer, Joseph Hennigan is responsible for leading the company's global finance team, overseeing all financial matters for the company, aligning finance and business strategies and working to execute a growth strategy for the company. Joe also oversees a variety of global financial initiatives as Welch Allyn continues its worldwide growth.
Before joining Welch Allyn in 2012, he served as the managing director of the Allyn Family Office, providing legal, tax investment and other services to the shareholders of Welch Allyn. Prior to this role, Joe was the senior vice president and CFO at HandHeld Products, Inc., and was responsible for the full range of finance functions as well as legal, business development and IT. He helped HandHeld Products grow into a highly successful business in the data collection industry; and when the company was acquired by Honeywell in 2008, Joe played a key role in the integration of the two companies. For much of his early career, Joe was a partner in KPMG, a global provider of audit, tax and business consulting services. While at KPMG, Joe provided services to his clients while located in a variety of cities, including Washington D.C.; London; Cincinnati, Ohio; and Rochester, N.Y.
Joe received his bachelor's degree and master's in business administration (MBA) from Syracuse University and he is a certified public accountant (CPA).
Executive Vice President, Chief Global Customer Experience Officer & CIO - Eric Hunt
Mr. Hunt has been Vice President CIO for Welch Allyn since May 2007. Mr. Hunt is responsible for all IT related issues; including SAP deployments, IBM outsource contract and all IT infrastructure functions. In addition, in 2011, Mr. Hunt took on the additional responsibility of managing the companies Service & Solutions Business and the Global Customer Care function. These functions are responsible for the delivery of Information Technology, Customer Experience Center, eBusiness development and deployment, and global support and sustaining operations. Mr. Hunt has served on a number of boards, including board president for the Rochester Ebusiness Association, Syracuse University iSchool Board of Advisors, and is currently the board president for Health Advancement Collaborative of Central New York.
Prior to Welch Allyn, Mr. Hunt worked for the Eastman Kodak Company for 21 years in various IT positions. Mr. Hunt had been the CIO - Consumer Digital Imaging Group & Film Photofinishing Systems Group before joining Welch Allyn.
In 1985, Mr. Hunt joined Eastman Kodak Company after graduating from Bentley College in Waltham, Massachusetts with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer Information systems.
Senior Vice President, Americas - John Tierney
As senior vice president, Americas, John Tierney is responsible for providing leadership and management sales, marketing, channel management, sales operations and business intelligence teams for the U.S., Canada and Latin America countries at Welch Allyn. In addition, Tierney is responsible for globalizing sales training and analytics capabilities.
Tierney joined Welch Allyn in 1990 as a sales representative in St. Louis, MO. In 2005, Tierney became vice president of sales for the U.S. and Canada, and in 2011 he was promoted to senior vice president for the U.S. and Canada—the largest regional business for Welch Allyn. Prior to joining Welch Allyn, Tierney held a variety of sales-oriented roles at Proctor & Gamble and Campbell Soup Company.
Tierney holds a degree in business from the University of St. Thomas and he completed the Executive Management Development Program at the University of Michigan's Stephen M. Ross School of Business in 2002. From 2008 to 2011, Tierney served as a member on the board of directors for the Healthcare Management Council.
Senior Vice President, Europe and Middle East - Hisham Hout
As senior vice president, Europe and Middle East (EME), Hisham Hout will lead all Welch Allyn EMEA business activities in support of company goals and objectives, including sales and margin growth. Hisham also provides a voice of the global customer at the executive table.
Hisham joined Welch Allyn in 2011 as the senior vice president of Europe and the Middle East with over 25 years of experience in the medical device and pharmaceutical industries. He most recently served as an international vice president and general manager at Hill-Rom, a leading manufacturer of medical technologies and hospital beds. Before joining Hill-Rom, Hisham held various positions at Rite Aid Corporation. He is familiar with the European and Middle Eastern medical markets and how to successfully increase a company's exports into those areas. Hisham has also won many awards ranging from management skills to business forecasting abilities.
Hisham earned his bachelor's degree in pharmacy from the University of Pittsburgh and his master's degree in business administration from Almeda University. He is also board certified from the West Virginia Board of Pharmacy.
